The basic version of a surge protector that reliably protects all your connected devices. The surge protector has 6 sockets, with one separated by extra space, designed for power adapters that often block adjacent sockets on other surge protectors.
SURGE AND ITS POSSIBLE CONSEQUENCES
A surge in the electrical grid is a voltage exceeding 253 V. Voltage spikes caused for example by lightning strikes are also considered surges. Surges can cause considerable damage:
- damage to the computer
- damage to important computer components
- damage to devices connected to the computer, such as monitors or printers
- damage to devices connected via USB or FireWire
- damage to network equipment
- data loss
SURGE PROTECTORS
are designed to protect electronic devices (computers, peripherals, multimedia equipment, TVs, DVD and video players, HiFi systems, etc.) from short circuits, impulse surges and high-frequency interference.
The Powerton surge protector is equipped with a resettable 10A fuse. If the connected devices exceed a current draw of 10 A, the fuse will trip.
