Based on user feedback analysis of Spectrum filament, the product range for outdoor use under increased exposure to UV radiation, temperature, and humidity was expanded. ASA, a well-known polymer and highly durable alternative to ABS, became the basis for another composite material, Spectrum ASA-X CF10.
The primary goal was to develop a material that guarantees consistently high mechanical performance of printed models, especially regarding hardness and stiffness, even during long-term outdoor weather exposure. The result is Spectrum ASA-X CF10, a composite based on carefully selected ASA filled with carbon fibers.
It provides users with a filament resistant to external influences such as sunlight (UV) and moisture (hydrolysis), with tensile strength over 7.5 GPa and heat resistance of 101"C. Spectrum ASA-X CF10 also has low shrinkage and is, unusually for technical materials with comparable properties, easy to print. Combined with a carbon matte surface that effectively masks print layers, Spectrum ASA-X CF10 has become a very popular choice among the 3D printing community.
