Support Material for ABS
HIPS-X is a consumable support material designed for additive manufacturing using FDM / FFF technology. It is typically used as a support for parts made from ABS, where HIPS-X supports are dissolved after the manufacturing process in a citric acid solution (D–Limonene). Furthermore, HIPS-X can be used as a base material for the production of components that require lower shrinkage during processing compared to ABS.
Key Features:
- enhanced aesthetic qualities with matte surfaces of printed items
- lower shrinkage than standard ABS
- possibility of mechanical processing (drilling, turning, milling, or grinding)
- high impact resistance
- energy absorption and dissipation capability
- suitable for large prints
- fully soluble in D-Limonene
Applications:
- support material for ABS
- industrial applications requiring impact-resistant parts or components capable of partial energy dissipation
- concept and demo prototyping of designed finished products and semi-finished products
Filament Specifications:
- filament diameter: 1.75 mm
- density: 1.05 g / cm³
- extrusion temperature: 230–255 "C
- bed temperature: 100 "C
- print speed: 40–100 mm / s
