Support material for ABS
HIPS-X is a consumable support material designed for additive manufacturing in FDM / FFF technology. It is typically used as a support for parts made from ABS, where the HIPS-X supports dissolve in a citric acid solution (D-limonene) after the production process is complete. HIPS-X can also be used as a base material for components requiring lower shrinkage during processing compared to ABS.
Key properties:
- improved aesthetic quality with matte surface of printed items
- lower shrinkage than classic ABS
- possibility of mechanical processing (drilling, turning, milling or grinding)
- high impact resistance
- ability to absorb and dissipate energy
- suitable for large prints
- fully soluble in D-limonene
Applications:
- support material for ABS
- industrial applications requiring impact-resistant parts or components capable of partial energy dissipation
- concept and demo prototyping of designed finished products and semi-finished products
Filament specifications:
- filament diameter: 1.75 mm
- density: 1.05 g/cm³
- extrusion temperature: 230–255 "C
- bed temperature: 100 "C
- printing speed: 40–100 mm/s
