Improved hardness and stiffness
Spectrum PET-G Carbon is a modified PET-G-based filament blended with carbon fibers, which contributes to significantly higher stiffness, hardness, and tensile strength while maintaining low shrinkage and very good adhesion to build platforms typical for pure PET-G. The 10% addition of carbon fibers allows for matte printed surfaces, which significantly improves the aesthetic properties of the prints.
Tip: Due to the substantial content of chopped carbon fiber, it is recommended to use nozzles with a diameter greater than the standard 0.4 mm. The presence of carbon fibers may also cause wear on standard nozzles; therefore, for long-term printing with Spectrum Carbon PET-G, it is recommended to use hardened steel or ruby nozzles.
Key features:
Improved hardness and stiffness compared to pure PET-G. Higher softening temperature compared to pure PET-G. Improved abrasion resistance. Much higher compression resistance compared to pure PET-G. Good mechanical properties. High aesthetic quality, matte surface. No shrinkage after cooling.
Applications:
Parts that must be very rigid and hard while maintaining dimensional accuracy. Production of spacer components exposed to static compressive loads. Concept and demo prototyping of designed final and semi-finished products. Decorative parts (aesthetic properties). External structural elements that emphasize the product. Prototyping.
Filament specifications:
Filament diameter: 1.75mm / 2.85mm. Extrusion temperature: 230–255"C. Bed temperature: 60–80"C. Printing speed: 30–70mm/s.
