Improved hardness and stiffness
Spectrum PET-G Carbon is a modified PET-G-based filament blended with carbon fibers, contributing to significantly higher stiffness, hardness, and tensile strength while maintaining low shrinkage and very good adhesion to build platforms typical for pure PET-G. The 10% carbon fiber content allows for matte printed surfaces, which greatly improves the aesthetic quality of the prints.
Tip: Due to the significant content of chopped carbon fiber, it is recommended to use nozzles with a diameter larger than the standard 0.4 mm. The presence of carbon fibers may also cause wear on standard nozzles; therefore, hardened steel or ruby nozzles are recommended for long-term printing with Spectrum Carbon PET-G.
Key features:
Improved hardness and stiffness compared to pure PET-G. Higher softening temperature compared to pure PET-G. Enhanced abrasion resistance. Much higher compression resistance compared to pure PET-G. Good mechanical properties. High aesthetic quality, matte surface. No shrinkage after cooling.
Applications:
Parts that must be very rigid and hard while maintaining dimensional accuracy. Production of spacer inserts exposed to static compressive loads. Concept and demo prototyping of designed finished and semi-finished parts. Decorative elements (aesthetic properties). External structural parts that highlight the product. Prototyping.
Filament specifications:
Filament diameter: 1.75mm / 2.85mm. Extrusion temperature: 230–255"C. Bed temperature: 60–80"C. Printing speed: 30–70mm/s.
